Why ESL Students?

Everyone in our group comes from a minority group, specifically Asian, and had to endure the struggle of ESL ourselves. While the program itself was created to assist non-English speaking students in their learning process, many of us have recalled on the negative impacts it has had throughout our education.
Much like the racism that Asians are facing today amidst the coronavirus, the stereotype of Asians and their English skills, or lack thereof, plays a role in not only our physical performance in the classroom but the mental toll it takes in our confidence. Our interviews seek to locate where exactly the ESL program is going wrong and what actions can be taken in order to ensure positive reviews.
